Alexandra Podolny

Biography

Ms. Alexandra Podolny is a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park and the University of Maryland School of Law. While in law school, she served as Associate Articles Editor for The Business Lawyer. Ms. Podolny is admitted to practice law in Maryland and has worked at CHHS since May 2005. Ms. Podolny has worked with the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) to develop Continuity of Operations (COOP) Plans for State and local agencies in Maryland. Ms. Podolny is also a member of the UMB Campus Emergency Management Team, and is currently working with the Campus to develop its COOP and pandemic influenza plans. Since September 2005, Ms. Podolny has worked on a U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grant awarded to the Center. Under this grant, she has developed a curriculum and conducted training sessions on COOP Planning to emergency managers and planners across the country. Ms. Podolny has completed Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Instructor Training Certification and Incident Command Courses at the DHS Center for Domestic Preparedness, as well as FEMA COOP, and Maryland Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) trainings.
