Dr. Fabio J. Chacon, born in Venezuela and US citizen, has an extensive career in development of technology-based instructional systems. He is currently Director of Academic Computing at Bowie State University, Maryland. His experience in distance education includes instructor, instructional designer, researcher, developer and online program director in both academic and corporate institutions. His areas of professional interest are distance education, psychology of learning, multimedia design, virtual learning systems, educational evaluation and assessment. He has written near 40 publications in Spanish and English in these areas. He has received international distinctions for his work, such as Fullbright Scholar, British Council Academic Award and MHEC Award.
