Katie Ranes

Biography

Katie Ranes is a Director in the University Technology Office at Arizona State University. She has worked at ASU for over 25 years and has been involved in a variety of administrative technology projects using architectures that range from the mainframe to client/server to the web. She currently serves in the Planning and Programs Office. Her responsibilities include managing a staff of project managers, managing project portfolios and directing projects herself including the upgrade of ASU's Oracle PeopleSoft applications and the transition of systems from Thunderbird Graduate School of Management to Arizona State University. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Scrum Master. Prior to assuming the project direction for the PeopleSoft 9 project, she directed application support for PeopleSoft and Blackboard Learn. From December 2006 through April 2008, she served as functional director on the OASIS project, ASU's implementation of Oracle/PeopleSoft, focusing on Student Administration and also directed the UTO Training Team. Former assignments include leadership for the initial ASU portal, project management for the Coeus implementation in support of research administration processes and various other administrative systems projects related to student processes. Katie has served in various volunteer capacities in CUMREC and EDUCAUSE, including conference presentations.
