Biography

I am the Assistant Dean for Technology Enhanced Instruction at the College of Medicine at Peoria. I  have over 25 years of experience in higher education, curriculum development, online learning, educational technologies and faculty development. My priorities at the College of Medicine include assessing the faculty’s familiarity with the range of pedagogical methods and technological resources available in Graduate and Undergraduate Medical Education, devising appropriate resources and workshops to foster and promote pedagogical innovation, and advising on the use of classroom and online technologies. My current projects include an initiative providing a Faculty Fellows Program on Technology in Medical Education (TiME), which provides a community of practice for medical educators pursuing scholarly educational research and using evidence-based teaching practices to create effective immersive learning environments.

Prior to joining the University of Illinois College of Medicine, I held leadership roles in educational technologies at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Indiana University Bloomington. My projects have encompassed leading the implementation of the enterprise LMS on a large R1 campus, working closely with faculty to integrate technology into on- and off-campus courses, creating and supporting comprehensive faculty development programs on educational technology and curriculum redesign, and leading efforts on multiple campuses for transforming student learning spaces into active, hyflex, and immersive learning environments.
