I am project manager at SURFnet, and responsible for the Digital learning environment project. In this project, I bring IT in education professionals together in networks and collaborative projects in order to support institutions with their developments on the digital learning environment. The last 7 years, I managed several innovation projects at SURFnet. Before SURFnet, I worked at the Dutch ministry of economic affairs as policy advisor digital government. I have master degrees in business sciences (2002) and public information management (2007).
Worldwide, higher education institutions face challenges to their digital learning environments. Next generation digital learning environments must meet the requirements of evolving learning methodologies, the realities of the new life-long student demographic, and constantly evolving hardware and software technologies.
