Patrick Feehan

Biography

Patrick J. Feehan is the Information Security and Data Privacy Director at Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland. He is an attorney and has completed coursework towards an LLM degree from The George Washington University School of Law in Intellectual Property. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Wisconsin. He is a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional. He has been a speaker at Educause and at various other conferences on numerous issues related to higher education law, information privacy and security. Patrick manages the College's information security program including management of the unit's IT Security Group. Additionally, his position develops, interprets, directs, documents and manages IT privacy and information policy compliance, including: asset classification and protection; management of cyber security and privacy risks; incident reporting and response, disaster recovery and business continuity, access control management and security awareness and training; drafting and reviewing confidentiality, nondisclosure and other user and contractor agreements; establishing and monitoring contract and software license privacy and security compliance, managing personnel security and privacy related to job definitions, hiring practices and confidentiality agreements; monitoring cyber security and privacy legal developments and modifying cyber security and privacy policy to comply with changes; providing an interface with the Office of Human Resources and the Office of the General Counsel, as needed.
