Shah Ardalan

Biography

Shah Ardalan is the first president of Lone Star College-University Park. Prior to becoming president in September 2012, he was named LSC-UP's chief executive officer in February 2011 to build the innovative college of the 21st century. In February 2008, Ardalan joined Lone Star College System as vice chancellor and CIO, where he served as a member of the Executive Council and led all IT operations of the fastest growing institution of higher education in the USA. This resulted in numerous national recognitions and global awards for providing highly reliable and advanced technology in support of student success. Before joining Lone Star College, Ardalan had 20 years of experience in educational and executive roles within the best and largest community college and university systems in North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada, and Texas. Ardalan started his higher education career as an instructor in 1989 and advanced to research associate, director of business development, special assistant to the president, associate vice president, vice president, and chief information officer. Ardalan is best known for his leadership and vision for a transformative education eco-system and improving organizational performance through innovation. In addition to over 100 presentations, articles, and features, Ardalan has been recognized as one of America's top educational innovators. He has also been serving on boards for local and global organizations. Ardalan earned a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He also holds diplomas and certificates from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and Harvard University.
