Biography

Alan Schomaker brings more than 25 years of experience in the field of information technology and has a diverse background in both university and corporate settings, with extensive experience in research, instructional, and enterprise computing.  Before assuiming the role as CIO for Loyola University New Orleans he was the IT Director for Database and Support Services at LSU Health Sciences Center.  In this capacity, he provided leadership in building and enhancing the institution’s information technology infrastructure to support the expanded use of technology in LSUHSC’s mission of education, research, patient care, and community outreach.  In addition to his role of IT Director with LSUHSC, Alan served as the IT Director for The Louisiana Cancer Research Center.

He earned his B.S. in Computer Science from Louisiana State University and M.B.A. from the University of New Orleans.
