Alison Camacho
Biography
Alison L. Camacho is a strategic communications and program operations leader with more than 25 years of experience in international education, English language programming, and global outreach. She serves as the Marketing and Outreach Manager for English Language Programs at Georgetown University, where she leads the planning and execution of marketing, recruitment, alumni engagement, and visibility initiatives for a U.S. Department of State–funded international exchange program.
Alison manages a cross‑functional team to deliver high‑impact projects, including regional conference campaigns, digital communications, recruitment webinars, alumni programming, and TESOL community partnerships. She oversees brand consistency, digital platform strategy, and engagement efforts that support a global network of TESOL professionals and multilingual educators.
With over two decades as an ESL/EFL educator, Alison has taught in diverse U.S. and international contexts, including Japan and Mexico, and has developed extensive curriculum and learning design experience. Prior to Georgetown, she directed intensive English programs at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and Georgia State University, where she also led federally funded teacher‑training and immersion programs for educators and students from Brazil, Nicaragua, Egypt, Iraq, China, and Japan.
Alison holds a Master’s in Applied Linguistics from Georgia State University. Her professional interests include strategic communications, digital marketing, project and team management, and learning experience design. She is committed to people‑to‑people diplomacy and leverages emerging tools—including AI—to enhance outreach, storytelling, and event engagement across digital and in‑person environments.
