
Alissa Harrington
Biography
Alissa Harrington draws from more than 25 years of industry experience as an instructional designer and technology educator. As the Senior Instructional Designer for McDaniel College, she partners with faculty to develop engaging online, and hybrid learning experiences using sound pedagogical methods for higher education, and adult education. She specializes in the theory and practice of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and active learning strategies. Alissa is dedicated to creating inclusive learning environments and is knowledgeable of federal and state information accessibility law (Section 508), as well as international standards related to usability and accessibility (WCAG). Alissa holds a degree in Education from Towson University and currently serves as the Education Liaison for the American Institute of Architects' Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA CAE).
