Biography
Allyson has worked in instructional design and delivery across K12 and higher ed settings since 2008. After completing her M.E. in Electrical Engineering she decided to make Gainesville her home and has worked at UF for most of her career. In addition to facilitating course design and development she also teaches workshops for faculty focused on course design and teaching with technology, and has presented at OLC Accelerate, Educause ELI, and AALHE conferences.

Leveraging backward design, cross-unit collaboration, and the LMS, advising programs can promote student success while building students’ skills, fostering metacognition and empowering academic achievement.

Moving new student orientations to a fully online or blended format has made these programs more affordable, convenient, and accessible for students and their families, and more efficient and streamlined for college and university staff.
