
Amy Fletcher
Biography
Amy L. Fletcher is a Senior Lecturer in Political Science at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. She completed her doctorate at the University of Georgia in June 1997, and held two visiting positions at Western Illinois University and Providence College prior to moving to Christchurch in June 1999. Her major area of research and teaching focus is science and technology policy, with a substantial interest in the use of digital media in higher education. She is currently a member of the Virtual Instructors Pilot Research Group (VIPRG), which is conducting long term analysis of the use of virtual avatars and robots as classroom tutors. Amy is Chair of the VIPRG sub-committee on Human Behaviour, which focuses on cultural and social aspects of student response to virtual instructors.EDUCAUSE Presentations
