Biography

We’re losing teachers and caregivers at an alarming rate. When they are asked their reasons for leaving, almost all professionals mention struggles with classroom and behavioral management. We need to retain our precious teachers and childcare employees, and to do so, we must supply them with an outstanding collection and resources for creating a positive classroom and community climate.

As both a teacher of 20 years and a mother of two, I am excited to work with teachers and parents of all backgrounds. I know classroom management and parenting are two of the most challenging tasks in the world-even for those with great experience! I am here to work to help fellow teachers and parents through these tough times so these pillars of society have all the tools they need for success and reduce their stress.

I earned my  B.A. in Spanish from U of I at Urbana and my Master of Education from DePaul University. I continued to earn my endorsements in ESL/Bilingual education and Language Arts from Aurora University and Grand Canyon University, respectively. Throughout my career, I received professional development and training from the best mentors and professional organizations. With all the buzzwords parents and educators are responsible for comprehending and applying, I find ways to share the most effective strategies without leaving my teammates feeling overwhelmed.

As I do in my classroom, I strive to be warm and inviting, human, articulate, and consistent with my fellow parents and educators.  I always begin a relationship by making my attendees excited and comfortable to learn. I’m an advocate for differentiation of instruction and approaches and appealing to diverse settings in both my classroom and my sessions. I not only love meeting amazing members of the community, but also building relationships with them so we can be career-long partners in academic and social emotional development.
