Andrea Irby


Andrea Irby currently serves as the associate director of the Office of Advising Support, Information and Services at North Carolina State University. From 1999-2006 she started and managed NC State’s virtual advising center (, an on-line as well as in-person advising unit available to all prospective and current undergraduate students. Ms. Irby's interests center around using technology to engage learners in higher education and in academic advising. From 2003-2005 she served as the Chair of the Technology Commission for the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and remains active on its steering committee. Currently, she is working on adviser training and development. Andrea received her Masters degree in International Affairs from the American University in Washington, D.C. and her Bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Virginia.
