Biography
As Director of CourseGateway, Andrea Jones-Davis leads the development of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded CourseGateway product and program. CourseGateway assists higher education institutions in making informed decisions about digital learning products (courseware) to use to maximize student learning and increase completion rates in Gateway courses.
Before joining EDUCAUSE, Andrea served as the Executive Director and Dean of JSUOnline at Jackson State University. She led the planning, development, and implementation of all distance education activities, including enrollment management, advising, instructional design, and regulatory and accreditation requirements. JSUOnline was developed under Andrea’s leadership through extensive collaboration with the campus community and demonstrated substantial growth in student engagement, faculty development, and academic quality. In the early years of her career, she worked in K-12 education as an instructional technology facilitator and licensed educator.
Andrea has a bachelor’s in Marketing, a master’s of Arts in Teaching, an educational specialist in Educational Leadership, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership.
