Andrew McCann

Biography

With a deep knowledge of e-learning solutions and their applications, from grade school through college and graduate school, I have proven skill at bringing new technology products to market. I built Waypoint Outcomes from an idea to a fast-growing business, then led a strategic acquisition by Bridgepoint Education. In 2012 we successfully transitioned the last Waypoint1.x client to Waypoint2, and have doubled our client base year over year. Along with continued responsibility for Waypoint Outcomes, I am leading the commercialization of the Thuze Digital Publishing solution, which makes it possible for any school organization, or company to have a branded e-books strategy, from the Apple App Store to a rich web reading experience. I have developed strong relationships with education and business leaders, proven my ability to close sales, and helped progressive educators advance their student-focused, analytics-driven mission. A sought after speaker on accreditation issues, writing in the disciplines, and outcomes assessment, I frequently consult with both K12 and higher education institutions. Earlier in my career I was a lead course designer in Drexel University's revolutionary inter-disciplinary engineering curriculum. I led the transition to a blended learning model for the first-year humanities curriculum. I taught first-year English, technical communication, and literature courses in both face-to-face and fully online modalities. I hold a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and an MA in English Literature and Creative Writing from Temple University. I spent five years with General Electric Co. in a variety of positions, including leading ISO 9000 certification and Six Sigma quality initiatives. My short fiction has appeared in Scribner's Best of the Fiction Workshops, and I was a scholarship recipient to the Breadloaf Writers' Conference.
