Biography
Andy Jones is the Academic Associate Director of Academic Technology Services at UC Davis, and in that capacity, he coordinates the Discussing Online Learning in Collaborative Education Program and the Faculty Panels Program, and edits "The Wheel," the UC Davis instructional technology blog. Andy also served UC Davis as the Chair of the Learning Management System Transition Working Group. A local resource on computer-aided instruction, social media, hybrid learning, technoculture, and writing across media, Andy has presented on teaching and technology throughout the United States and in Japan, and has appeared as a blended learning expert on local television and on the statewide radio program "California Report." Always curious about pedagogy, Andy recently published a book chapter on teaching with Twitter, and in 2006 Andy was presented the "Educator of the Year" award by the Associated Students of the University of California, Davis. Andy Jones has taught writing and other subjects at UC Davis since 1990, and hosted "Dr. Andy's Poetry and Technology Hour" on KDVS - FM since 2000. He was named the Poet Laureate of Davis in 2014.
