Angela Neria

Biography

Angela Neria has served as a Chief Information Officer for over 25 years.  She is currently the Associate Vice President of Technology/CIO at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS.  Before her appointment at PSU, she served as the CIO for The Joplin Public School System, a large K-12 district in Joplin, MO.  Leading up to her experience in education she worked in the private sector holding various roles in IT. 

Angela has had the privilege of being involved in many changes, implementations, and educational landscapes.  These experiences have helped her to navigate the all-time high demands and growing fast pace that we are seeing and feeling in IT today. She has presented at many state, regional, and national conferences on instructional technology, IT strategic planning, leadership and collaboration, change management, creating buy-in during change, and IT disaster recovery.  She has published several articles on various facets of IT in education and is often called upon to share her experience leading enterprise wide implementations.

Angela holds a BBA, MBA, and EdS all from Pittsburg State University. In addition, she has attended Harvard College where she completed the prestigious Harvard College Institute for Higher Education Leadership Program.  She serves on several local, regional, and national committees, councils, and boards with groups such as Southwest Center, KanREN, MHEC, and EDUCAUSE.
