Anita Walz
Biography
Anita Walz is the Open Education, Copyright, and Scholarly Communication Librarian at Virginia Tech. She is the lead author of the Association of Research Libraries "SPEC Kit 351: Affordable Course Content and Open Educational Resources" (2016), the project manager for open textbook "Fundamentals of Business," and the author of "Open and Editable: Exploring Library Engagement in Open Educational Resource Adoption, Adaptation and Authoring" (2015).
She is an Advisory Board member for the Open Textbook Network, and serves on the Open Virginia Advisory Committee of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).
She holds a Masters in Library & Information Science from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, and an undergraduate degree in Economics with a Philosophy minor. She has been a librarian for 15 years and has served in Academic, International, Government, and School libraries.
