Biography
Anthony Newman is a recognized leader in security, innovation, technology, and teaching and learning. Currently, Anthony serves as the Executive Director for REN-ISAC where he leads the organization's strategy and ensures it is operating according to its mission. He most recently worked at Purdue University as its Chief Information Security Officer where he was responsible for leading the University’s information security and privacy program, focusing on risk, cybersecurity operations, policy, compliance management, and training and awareness. He has been in the Information Technology field for 20 years with the last 7 years being in higher education. Before joining Purdue University, he held a variety of technical and leadership positions in government and consulting. His experience as a person of industry, government, and higher ed brings an out-of-the-box perspective towards education transformation. Anthony holds degrees in Computer Science and Management, an MBA from Purdue University, and several technical certifications. In addition to his work at the University, Anthony regularly collaborates with schools, non-profits, and private companies in areas of leadership, innovation, and process improvement.
