Anthony Potoczniak

Biography

Anthony Potoczniak is a third year graduate student in cultural anthropology at Rice University and the archives assistant at Rice’s Woodson Research Center. His scholarly interests include the development of folk music sound archives in Eastern Europe after 1989 and their relationship to the formation of ethnic identity at local, regional and national levels. Anthony is also exploring innovative uses of digital technology in transnational research projects that can potentially enhance institutional collaboration. Anthony received his undergraduate degree in music composition at Rice's Shepherd School of Music and his master's degree in ethnomusicology at the Higher Music Institute in Lviv, Ukraine.
