April Dawn

Biography

April Dawn (formerly McKettrick) is the Lead, Senior Instructional Designer & Faculty Development Consultant in the Center for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence (CAFE) at the California State Polytechnic University in Pomona (CPP). The first twelve years of her career were spent in the division of Instructional & Information Technology. In addition to her role as an Instructional Designer, April has held a variety of positions including the University Photographer, Media Production Specialist, LMS Coordinator, Studio 6 Coordinator, Interim Manager and Administrator in Charge of the eLearning team. In 2015, April was recognized as an Outstanding Staff member. Completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, a minor in Digital Media Arts, and a Master of Arts in Educational Multimedia, April has had the privilege of contributing to Cal Poly Pomona as staff, student, alum, and part-time lecturer. She has taught multiple modes of instruction on campus including online, hybrid, and face-to-face. Prior to employment at CPP, April received an Associate in Science degree  and multiple certificate in Photographys from Citrus College. For nearly nine years, she worked in various photographic capacities for the Lockheed Corporation. April's true passion for photography is focused on animals/wildlife, nature and abstracts.
