Biography

I am an Instructional Technology Consultant and Instructor for the Bryan School of Business and Economics at The University of North Carolina Greensboro. I love teaching and helping others become better educators. In research, I am interested in design based research (Reeves, Herrington & Oliver, 2009) with a focus on pedagogy and the development of online instruction.  The importance of collaboration and social interaction in online education has been well documented (Bown, Collins & Duguid, 1989; Fulford & Zhang, 1993; Gunawardena & McIssac, 2003). However, there is a need for research on how the design of collaborative online courses impacts student engagement with course content, wtih the course instructor, and with other students in the course.

Outside of work, I love playing tennis, traveling to see family and friends, and relaxing with a good book.
