Arin Komins

Biography

Arin Komins has been working at the University of Chicago intermittently since 1993. While off-campus, she worked at IBM, Encyclopaedia Britannica, and PerotSystems. In her career, she has worked in many different areas of IT, including IT management, project management, application and solutions architecture, security, web administration, systems administration, project management, and desktop support. Recently, she has moved to be a Product Manager for Collaboration Software for the University of Chicago's IT Services organization. Currently in her portfolio are Office 365, Google Suite for Education, Slack, and Box.  Recently managed projects include: an Office 365 rollout, a new student information system, a new HRIS system, putting in an electronic budget + planning system for campus, a ITIL-based service desk for IT, ensuring that IT was prepared for a new foreign center in Beijing, and an 802.1x roll out. She holds BA degrees in Anthropology and Asian Studies, certificates in Project Management Strategy and Advanced Project Management, and is PMP certified.
