Biography
Arlene Forman, Associate Professor of Russian at Oberlin College (Oberlin, Ohio), has been involved in collaborative projects that promote foreign language and cultural proficiency. From 1996-2003 she served on the Steering Committee of the Ohio5 Foreign Language Technology Project, a Mellon-supported initiative that led to the creation of multi-media materials for students of Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Spanish and Swahili. Since 2001 she has served on the Managing Board of The Realia Project, the focus of her presentation today. Professor Forman holds a Ph.D. in Russian Literature from Brown University.
