Ashley Molina

Biography

I am currently an Academic Manager which entails many project management and change management principles. I am in the College of Graduate Nursing (CGN) and serve as co-chair for both our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism and CGN Educational Technology Committee. I am also involved in the Educational Technology sub-committee at the University level. I was previously elected as a founding member of our WesternU Staff Council established in 2020 and was subsequently elected to the WSC Secretary and Chair of the Professional Development Committee.

I have had a very non-traditional educational and career journey. I graduated from a high school that had a more self-directed, hybrid approach than traditional high school. I then moved onto our local community college where I’d earned many certificates in HR and business before getting my two Associate’s degrees in those subjects. I transferred to University of La Verne, a local private, 4-year college and completed my Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management in 1.5 years through a program geared toward working professionals.

My career began in the private, corporate settings then shifted to academia. I have been with my current organization for over 12 years and have worked in Advancement, Human Resources, and now in our College of Graduate Nursing so I have experienced both the operational and academic areas of our institution and enjoy knowing and understanding the big picture of how things run.

My co-workers have described me as a person that creates organization out of chaos and while making others feel comfortable and supported. I enjoy finding efficiencies in processes but strive to meet people where they are and compassionately build bridges for them to get where we are headed.
