A.J. Hyman

Biography

Dr. Avi (AJ) Hyman, University of Toronto
------------------------------------------------

My name is Avi Hyman and I am an anthropologist, historian, technologist, educator, researcher and writer, with a doctoral degree from OISE, where I also serve as an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Leadership, Higher & Adult Education.

For more than four decades I was fortunate to have had positions that allowed me to both think strategically about higher education, and actualize ideas on a day-to-day basis while supporting learners and teachers. Among my favourite roles was serving as Institutional Strategist for Academic Technologies in the Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation (the University of Toronto's faculty development group). Beyond the University, I was grateful to work closely with the team at 1EdTech (formerly IMS Global), the world-leading non-profit collaborative advancing edtech interoperability, innovation, and learning impact.
