Biography

Dr. Barb Chalfonte is Executive Director of Strategic Analytics for the University Analytics and
Institutional Research group at the University of Massachusetts. Her primary focus is the provision of data and analysis to augment decision-making and planning while also cultivating a base for campus-wide data literacy and ethical use of data and analytics. Prior to joining UMass, Barb was the Vice President of Institutional Effectiveness and Information Technology at Springfield Technical Community College. Her areas of expertise include the development and reform of institutional systems with particular attention to addressing race/ethnicity and income inequities.
