The authors discuss how to build and leverage peer networks: where to find people to include, how to establish common ground among a variety of IT disciplines in higher education, and how best to realize the unintended benefits of these relationships.
Barron is the chief information officer at Williams College in Massachusetts. Prior to that, Barron was the director of client services and acadmic technology at Macalester College. Barron did his undergraduate work in physics at Carleton College and graduate work in astrophysics at the University of Minnesota and was a Frye fellow in 2005. Barron is currently serving on the EDUCAUSE board of directors. Previously he has served EDUCAUSE on the ELI Advisory Board, the nomination committee, the advisory committee for teaching and learning and several programming committees. He was given the EDUCAUSE Rising Star Award in 2013.
