Ben Daniel

Biography

Ben Kei Daniel, PhD, is  Professor in Higher Education at the University of Otago, New Zealand and the convenor for Educational Technology for the university. Dr Daniel obtained his PhD in Jointly in Educational Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED) from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada in 2007.
Current research programmes are broadly situated in the area of Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED). In particular, Prof. Daniel is interested in understanding the value of Big Data and learning analytics in influencing learning and teaching. Also, he is investigating theories and praxis of teaching research methodologies for Business and Academia. Ben has Professional memberships in the International Society for Artificial Intelligence in Education (IAIED), EDUCAUSE. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)(Learning Technologies) and the Association for the Advancement of Communities in Education (AACE).
