Ben Deaton

Biography

Dr. Benjamin Deaton is the Assistant Provost for Academic Innovation and Digital Learning at Anderson University (SC). Ben serves in a leadership role in the campus' Mobile Learning Initiative (MLI) in which all students and faculty members receive mobile devices. For the MLI, he provides workshops, seminars, and colloquiums related to instructional design, technology integration, and best practices. Additionally, he is responsible for the design, development, and assessment of online and blended courses. Prior to joining Anderson University, Ben was an Instructional Technology and Faculty Training Specialist at the University of Mississippi. He received his PhD in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia, M.S. from Clemson University (Computer Science), and B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics from Carson-Newman College.
