Beth Marhanka

Biography

As Head of the Gelardin New Media Center, Beth Marhanka directs both new media literacy programs and emerging technology initiatives for Georgetown University. She and her staff of Multimedia Specialists work closely with campus partners to support instructional technologies that enhance the classroom learning experience and provide digital media skills to everyone at Georgetown. Before leading the New Media Center, Beth was a research and instruction librarian and web coordinator at the Georgetown University Library and the Northern Virginia Community College. In addition to designing and managing the Web presence for both institutions, she created online information literacy tutorials used to teach all new students research skills and academic integrity. Her passion is pushing the boundaries of library services by making emerging technologies and state-of-the-art tools more accessible to anyone with a desire to innovate, create new knowledge and improve teaching and learning in higher education.
