Bharath serves two primary roles as Deputy Chief Information Officer for the University of North Texas System, and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enterprise Applications.
As Deputy CIO, Bharath is the senior ranking staff member reporting to the CIO, where he advises and assists with the formulation of information technology strategies, policies, and programs. Bharath provides executive IT leadership, decision making, and oversight as assigned by CIO, or in his absence.
As Associate Vice Chancellor for Enterprise Applications, Bharath established the vision, strategic leadership, and direction for all enterprise applications across the UNT System. Bharath ensures the planning, budgets, and resource allocations are sufficient, and the policies, services, and deliveries for all enterprise applications areas successfully align with UNT System's long-term solutions.
Bharath has over 24 years of experience in Enterprise Applications in both on-premise and cloud deployment models leveraging waterfall and Agile methodologies. He has worked at start-ups and large companies in the private sector with almost 18+ years at Oracle where he led product teams in Middleware and Applications. Most recently, he helped drive the transformation of the Oracle Fusion Suite of Applications (ERP, CRM, HCM, SCM) from on-premise to cloud and also the overall Agile transformation. He also has significant experience working in non-profits and serving on boards.
Bharath has a MS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a Bachelors in Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India.
