Billy Herndon

Biography

Billy T. Herndon is currently the Assistant Vice President for Enterprise Information Systems and Services, Office of Information Technology at Duke University. Billy has over 30 years experience with administrative systems in the higher education and the healthcare environment. Currently his responsibilities include providing direction, leadership, vision and oversight for the following areas within the Office of Information Technology: Applications and Database Services, Computer Operations, and Web Services, providing IT services to the faculty, staff and students.

Also, he is responsible for administrative systems projects including the technical budgets and technical leadership for various projects. Administrative systems responsibilities include the Financials, Human Resources, Payroll and Student applications at Duke University.

Some of the more recent implementation projects include the implementation of Enterprise Relationship Planning (ERP) systems. During these implementations, he has demonstrated a blend of technical, management, and political skills that resulted in the successful implementations of both SAP R3 and Peoplesoft Student Administrative systems.
