Brad Boeke

Biography

Brad Boeke is the Director of Academic Technology Services at Southern Methodist University, where he is expanding the use of existing and emerging collaborative technologies, such as blogs, wikis, podcasting, interactive video, and other Web 2.0 technologies for academic applications. Before joining SMU in 2008, he was the Director of Technology Services for American University’s School of Communication, where he managed the school's computing and media production facilities, and spearheaded the transition from an analog to digital production environment. He led numerous hands-on workshops for students and faculty on using low-end tools for high-end results, including web production, digital imaging, and non-linear video editing. Previously, Brad served for two years at DePauw University’s Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media as the director of television operations. In that role, he taught semester-long courses in video production and editing, enabled student and faculty use of professional television production equipment and facilities, and led hands-on workshops in multimedia production, non-linear digital video editing, and web authoring for DePauw’s students and faculty. His educational background includes a M.A. in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Maryland and a M.S. in Information Technology Management from American University in Washington, DC.
