Biography

Brendan Calandra is Distinguished University Professor and Chair of the Department of Learning Sciences in the College of Education & Human Development at Georgia State University, where he has played a central role in shaping the department’s growth, direction and national profile. His scholarship sits at the intersection of digital media, teacher education and the learning sciences, with a sustained focus on designing and studying technology‑rich learning environments that strengthen professional practice and expand educational opportunity. His work is use‑inspired and impact‑driven, and over the course of his career it has been supported by private foundations, state agencies and federal organizations, including the National Science Foundation.
