Committing to DEI Work: Are You Engaged?
Although many IT leaders agree on the importance of DEI work, fewer are actively engaged in the work involved. Why do leaders avoid this work, and what can they do to commit in a meaningful way?
Brian Basgen started his career as an IT work-study student at Seattle University. From there, he developed a technical background in Unix systems administration, networking, and information security. For the past fifteen years, he has served in IT leadership roles with an emphasis on building teams across the institution to accomplish strategic initiatives. Brian currently serves as Senior AVP for Information Technology at Emerson College, leading a staff of 75 in the IT department, the Media Technologies and Productions department, and the radio station WERS.
