Brian Ensor

Biography

As Associate Vice President of Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Research Services, Brian leads a dedicated team responsible for the cross-functional leadership of network services (data/voice), identity management, security operations, IT risk, research technology services and the Capital Area Advanced Research and Education Network (CAAREN). In this role, he oversees strategy, operations, change management, training, governance, and project planning for those key areas.

Brian is an experienced and transformational IT executive with more than 20 years of expertise in providing high-quality and innovative solutions and leading the continuous improvement of IT services aligned with enterprise strategies.  He has worked both nationally and internationally on driving academic, research and administrative innovations and promoting entrepreneurship in a digital culture. Prior to joining the George Washington University in 2011, Brian served as the head of research and architecture solutions at the National University of Ireland, Galway.

He holds a bachelor's degree in computer and information science from the University of Maryland University College, a master's degree in information assurance from Norwich University, and several professional certifications in project management, information security and enterprise architecture.
