Brian Hoyt

Biography

Brian Hoyt is Director of Technology Integration in Information Services and Resources (ISR), a merged IT/library organization at Bucknell University in Pennsylvania. In this position, he serves as the campus’s CTO and oversees the campus’s technology integration efforts, serves on the organization’s leadership team, and plays a leading role in ISR’s strategic planning efforts. His responsibilities include Bucknell’s core IT infrastructure, administrative databases, web development activities, network and telecommunication services as well as support for the campus’s learning spaces and instructional technology. Brian began his IT career in Bucknell’s College of Engineering where he was responsible for building the college’s first electronic classroom and courseware development studio and most recently spearheaded the development of the college’s collaborative learning studios. Before assuming his current role in ISR, Brian served as the Project Director for Project Catalyst at Bucknell—a multi-year NSF-funded initiative to improve engineering education through the application of instructional design theory, collaborative learning and information technology to produce systemic change in engineering education. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Bachelor of Arts in Education from Bucknell, as well as a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from Bloomsburg University (PA) and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell.
