Brian Landrigan
Biography
I have worked in the education sector for 30 years. I began my career as a Kindergarten teacher in Sydney before working for five years on the remote indigenous community of Maningrida in the Northern Territory.
I completed a Diploma of Multimedia from Cooloola Institute of TAFE while teaching at various schools in Queensland and after moving to Armidale, N.S.W, I was offered part-time work in the Teaching and Learning Centre at the University of New England. This position became a full-time academic role, delivering professional development to academic staff. I was also the Manager of the Multimedia Unit until I was offered the position of Manager, Educational Media at UNSW Sydney. This role has broadened to include Immersive Technologies and media systems and is now Manager, Media and Immersive Technologies.
I completed a Master of Education at UNSW Sydney in 2018 and am currently a PhD candidate at The University of Sydney titled:
Evaluating the effectiveness of extended reality (XR) experiences on student learning and investigating the potential for Australian universities to adopt an open education resource policy to ensure greater adoption of immersive resources across the higher education sector.
