Brian Hinote

Biography

Dr. Brian P. Hinote currently serves as Associate Vice Provost in the Office of Student Success at Middle Tennessee State University, where he leads multiple strategic initiatives in areas as diverse as advising, supplemental instruction, and the use of educational technology to promote persistence, progression, and retention.  Dr. Hinote is a long-time faculty member and an accomplished social and behavioral science researcher, but now spends most of his time focusing on various projects germane to iPASS, student success, and change leadership at MTSU.  Most recently, Dr. Hinote is part of the core leadership team tasked with customizing, planning, and implementing the Education Advisory Board’s (EAB) Student Success Collaborative (SSC), which MTSU adopted as a core technology platform in March 2016 for advisors and various other groups of campus colleagues.  iPASS technologies are an important part of transformative change leadership at MTSU, and Dr. Hinote's work unfolds at the nexus of technology, student services, faculty and staff affairs, and higher education leadership.
