Carol Henrichs
Biography
Dr. Carol Henrichs is currently an assistant director in Instructional Technology Services at Texas A&M University where she is responsible for administering the services related to faculty training and support in the use of technology for teaching and learning. She oversees her department's distance education responsibilities and has served as a member of the Distance Education Advisory Committee for the Texas A&M University System. Prior to joining Texas A&M, Carol spent sixteen years with The Victoria College, in Victoria, TX, as the Director of Distance Education and Technology Training. While there she led a significant technology integration and online learning initiative and she managed a $1.24 million Title III Grant project with a major distance learning component. Carol spearheaded efforts to develop the institution's first fully online degree, which involved setting up college policies and procedures as well as administering the training and support services for faculty. With many years of experience teaching college courses in a traditional classroom, via interactive television and online, Carol is able to understand the issues faced by faculty when utilizing technology in their teaching. Henrichs' professional activities include serving on the Board of Directors for the United States Distance Learning Association and Texas Distance Learning Association and various committees for the Texas Distance Learning Association (TxDLA), the International Forum for Women in Elearning (IFWE), and chairing the South Texas Higher Education Regional Council (STHERC) for 2007 as well as presenting at local and national technology conferences.
