Chandru Rajam
Biography
Dr. Chandru Rajam is President of Quantrium.ai, a deep-tech/ AI services and products company that offers scalable automation solutions for a wide range of industries and business applications. Quantrium has solved tough business problems primarily in the areas of Document Intelligence and Computer Vision, and secondarily in Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Process Intelligence, and Bioinformatics.
Chandru Founded (and now advises) RichFeedback, a provider of learning-assessment services to universities and colleges. He stepped away from management to serve as Vice Provost for Graduate, Professional & Continuing Education at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). Founded in 1855, TCNJ is well-known for academic excellence as a public, liberal-arts college.
Previously, Dr. Rajam was a Visiting Professor (and is now Professorial Lecturer) at George Washington University School of Business and previously taught at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and at the University of Colorado-Denver.
At NUS, Dr. Rajam was Founding Director of the Asia-Pacific Executive MBA Program, the first of its kind in Asia at the time, and ranked consistently in the top-20 globally.
Later, he served as Founding Dean of U21 Global, a JV between Cengage Learning and Universitas 21, a global university consortium一an, an online pioneer long the advent of MOOCs.
From 2000-2003, Dr. Rajam was Moderator of BusinessWeek Conferences, shaping the agendas of, and vetting speaker presentations, and chairing on stage more than 50 CEO, CFO, and CIO business conferences across Asia.
Dr. Rajam later worked at the UK-based The Economist Group. He led the Economist Corporate Network, overseeing research on the business environment in Asia and leading briefings to the regional CEOs of MNCs.
Once a regular Business/Economics commentator on CNBC, BBC, and Bloomberg, Chandru has consulted for or taught in executive-education programs offered by Harvard Business School, Tuck-Dartmouth, IBM, McDonnell-Douglas, Mobil, GM, APL Lines, Singapore Airlines, GE, Samsung, GSK, Elf Atochem, and numerous other companies.
An engineer and MBA by initial education (IIT, IIM), Chandru earned a PhD in Business Strategy from The Pennsylvania State University. A naturalized US citizen, Chandru was born and raised in Malaysia and has lived, studied, or worked in four countries.
