Chanitra Bishop is the Instruction & Emerging Technologies Librarian at Indiana University Bloomington. Her responsibilities include exploring and recommending new technology to incorporate into the delivery of library reference and instructional services. Chanitra, a technology enthusiast, promotes the use of technology by libraries and librarians and has done presentations on online technology tools for librarians. In addition to exploring new technologies, her professional interests include accessibility and usability issues with libraries and exploring new ways to market library services to users. She received her M.L.S./M.I.S. from Indiana University, Bloomington in December, 2008.
Chanitra has been a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador since 2010 and a Wikipedia Regional Ambassador since 2011. Chanitra has worked with professors at Indiana University to incorporate Wikipedia into classroom assignments and has help professors design Wikipedia based assignments.
