Cheryl O'Dell


Thanks to opportunities working in different positions in Information Technology, Information Security was an easy transition for Cheryl. Cheryl was able to build an Information Security Program from the group up in her first security role, and has been able to specialize in different areas including incident management, policy, awareness, compliance, and forensics. Cheryl has the CISSP certification and continues to improve her knowledge. Currently working at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Cheryl is a member of the Information Security team and several committees on campus.

    The University of Nebraska–Lincoln recently discussed the risks of identity theft with local middle school students using a presentation developed by IT services, academic technologies, and libraries, as well as a top 10 list of identity theft issues.
