Biography

Christian “Chris” Schreiber is a higher education cybersecurity expert with over 20 years of experience supporting institutions of all sizes.

His prior roles include serving as CISO at the University of Chicago, the University of Arizona, and University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. He also worked with hundreds of colleges and university customers to improve their information security programs in leadership roles at SunGard Higher Education (now Ellucian) and FireEye / Mandiant (now parts of Google Cloud and Trellix).

Chris started providing CISO coaching services to higher education executives in 2021. In 2022, he launched CampusCISO. This online platform provides higher education institutions an easy-to-use cybersecurity assessment and planning tool, resources to research potential vendor solutions, and benchmarking data to help prioritize new cybersecurity investments.

Chris splits his time between his home in Tucson, AZ and downtown Chicago, IL.

Chris has a Masters Certificate in Project Management from University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University. He also holds multiple professional certifications, including Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
