Christina Jones

Biography

Christina is an instructional technologist with experience in instructional design, educational technology support, and college-level teaching. Before she gave in to the siren song of educational technology, Christina earned a Master's degree in Rhetoric and Composition while teaching introductory academic writing courses at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She also trained several classes of new instructors for their Writing Program and led the program's Teaching with Technology initiative before becoming a teaching and technology consultant for the university’s Instructional Media Lab. There she specialized in faculty training, course management systems, curriculum development, and resource creation. After earning a Master's of Education in Learning, Media, and Technology from UMass Amherst, Christina moved back to her home state of Texas and now works for El Centro College in Dallas. There she works jointly with the Office of Distance Learning and the Faculty Teaching & Learning Center to support innovative uses of technology in teaching. She also designs courses, creates and runs faculty training, and collaborates with subject matter experts to develop effective hybrid and online instruction.
