Biography
Having held a range of senior posts within the UK academic library sector I took up my first Director-level post in Edinburgh's Napier University in 1999. My contribution to the profession was recognised when in 2010 I had the honour of serving as President of the Chartered Institute of Library & Information Professionals in Scotland. In the following year, and following reorganisation within the University, I became Director of Information Services with the responsibility of bringing together an IT service and a Library service into a single, integrated department. Conscious that the convergence of IT and Library services is not always successful or ever fully implemented I have made it my goal to ensure we achieve a fully integrated and joined-up department. Though still a work in progress, throughout this process we have maintained a firm belief in delivering a high quality customer service along with service innovation.
