Chris Thomas


I work within Dynamic Campus' Managed Services Team and am currently the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Andrews University within Information Technology Services (ITS). Prior to joining Andrews University, I served in senior leadership roles with Start-ups, Mastercard, Ellucian, and several other organizations. I have over twenty years of information technology (IT) experience with the past five years being in higher education. I served in an IT executive role for two other universities in the US. I have extensive experience leading teams that support Banner, phone and network infrastructure, and Help Desk operations. I also served 10 years in the United States Army where I was a Chaplain’s Assistant. My years of experience have given me extensive knowledge of networking, infrastructure, and classroom technologies as well as project management and emerging technology integration. I leverage my background in information technology, higher education, and customer service to provide extraordinary value to the Andrews Community.

I am a strategic leader who has established and built data governance, project management, and business intelligence teams at previous institutions while standardizing IT processes and procedures. I am  adept at aligning IT projects and initiatives with an institution’s strategic plan while building collaborative relationships throughout the institution. I also understand the importance of the student experience and has previously developed a Student Success Technology program to improve the overall student experience.

I received a B.S. in Information Technology as well as a M.S. in Information Systems Management from University of Phoenix.
