Biography
Christopher Williams is a native of Columbus, Ohio. He is a graduate of Columbus State Community College with a degree in Electronic Engineering, and from Ohio University in with a degree in Telecommunications. Chris has over 18 years’ experience in a higher education distance learning media production environment and currently works as a media producer in distance learning at Georgia Tech.
Christopher's specific expertise is in live and studio video production, audio production, streaming video production, CD/DVD production and duplication, video editing, web design and rich media presentations. Christopher was instrumental in the transition of Georgia Tech's Distance Learning program from a taped based program with physical daily mailings, to a file based virtual program in which all elements are digital and distributed online.
Many of Christopher's hobbies mirror his professional life, which include shooting video, maintaining a blog site, and producing a bi-weekly music podcast. Additional Chris believes in community service and volunteering, having worked with the Riverdale Police and Fire departments, serving as a judge for 5 years for the Georgia Student Media Festival, and working with other non-profits such as Hands on Atlanta, Atlanta Food Bank, Community Access People TV, and Atlanta Union Mission to name a few.
